Why didn't they ask me?
I was hoping the FAA could solve the air-traffic-controller-sleeping-on-the-job problem on its own but it's clear I have to step in.
Attack the problem head on:
• Prohibit pajamas on the night shift.
• Ban stuffed animals from the control tower.
• Randomly test shirt collars for drool.
Instead, officials are reducing hours and adding staff. Best of all,FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt will visit controllers around the country giving them pep talks.
If that doesn't put them to sleep nothing will.
