Did you read the news item in the Plain Dealer about the performance of Merideth Kaye Clark during a production of Wicked? Confronted with a noisy, even violent, disruption in the audience, the understudy went on with her song and finished to an ovation.
"A showbiz disaster became a 'beautiful theatrical moment,'" wrote PD critic Tony Brown, contrasting Clark's showmanship with the reaction of performers who have stopped shows over ringing cell phones.
I noted one of those disasters in an earlier post, but it's nice to have an example of how one can turn a negative into a positive by ignoring the interruption and soldiering on.
